The Original Fisherman was created the day I was born. No Really!!! Fishing has been a huge part of my life since I was very young. When I was about 4 my Father took me out on my first fishing trip. It was a very important day for me, it was the day I would become drenched in fishing fever. My Father set me up with some light weight gear and a cork with a tiny piece of dog food at the end on a hook. Almost instantly when the bait hit the water I started getting a bite. Standing on an already slippery rock next to the water I set the hook for the very first time and fell in the water. From that day forward my Father would tell everyone we knew, showing them a picture of a very wet young boy holding a bluegill, that my first fish pulled me in. I started fishing Bass tournaments when I was about 19 and have been doing so ever since, any way I can. Very often I was needing new gear like fishing rods, reels, lures, boat accessories, and so on. But as most good fishermen know, the most expensive (for most of us) is replacing our reels. They can range from $50 to $500 and for the richer fisherman, or should I say more obsessed fisherman, sometimes reels can cost up to thousands. I was tired of spending my hard earned "bass cash" on a new reel every time something went wrong with one. I know every one of you has done the flip and dip, where you flip your rod backward and dip it into the lake. That can sometimes work to get your reels turning again. But for those of you who don't fish with a Zebco 33 I have a better solution. I studied every type of fishing reel from bait casting to deep sea rigs just so I could maintain and clean my reels to make sure my favorite part of my arsenal was ready to catch the keeper of a lifetime. Then one morning as I was cleaning my own gear, I thought to myself, "why not offer this service to everyone who needs help maintaining their gear." So I started the Original Fisherman Fishing Reel Repair. The name was already my team name for sport fishing so I decided to make a business. For about 10 years now I have been cleaning and maintaining fishing gear for my fellow fishermen. This is the one thing I love to do more than just about anything else (except fishing itself).
